Birthday Time!

So I am now 27. Sounds old to me. I know its not, but 27 is closer to 30 which is on my way to 40. 26 is closer to 25 which is still in my mid 20's. Neurotic I know, but thats the way I view it. I had a few days filled with birthday celebrations. Wednesday night/Thursday morning at 1201am, I went and saw Sex and The City with Jessica. It was a good movie, but I was soooo tired the next day. I got home at 3am and one of the boys were up at 4 to eat and one was up at 430 to eat as well. Joey was up for the day at 630 and boy was I an emotional wreck. It was a super long day for me.
Friday I celebrated my birthday with my family (Mom, Dad, Jesse, Marc, and the boys) because I had to work on Saturday. I met up with Mom and I got to tan. She then took me out to lunch! We went shopping to a few different places and then we ended up back at her house. I think I took a little nap and then played with the boys for a while. Joey got an inflatable baby pool, so he was in and out of that the whole day. We worked on the garden as well. For dinner, we had BBQ pulled pork and chips and had strawberry shortcake for dessert! YUM! For my birthday, mom got me a Miche bag. If you haven't heard of them, they are super cool. The shells on the outside of the purse change so you don't have to take everything out when you want to change purses. You just switch the shell. I got the purse and 4 shells! Jesse got me a gift certificate for a mani/pedi!
The next day was my official birthday and I had to work :( I really didn't want to, but we were short on the floor anyways. I headed to work and not too long after I got there, Marc showed up with the boys and brought me flowers from the boys. He also brought bagels for everyone here at work! He then headed up to his parents house. That sucked. I really didn't want to be alone the night of my birthday. After work, I went and got Chinese food and went home. I ate and then cleaned. What a way to spend my birthday huh! Oh well. I am one year older and another year wiser!
The funny thing is that I wouldn't want to be 21 again for anything in the world. I am glad that I have learned what I have learned, but I wouldn't want to do it over again. I know that the decisions that I have made in my life have led me to where I am. Although I wish I could have changed some things, I love my life for who is in it.

Cloth Diaper Blog!

So since we made the switch to Cloth Diapers, I have been looking at blogs of those that do CD. One of the ladies that owns her own CD store lives about 20 min from me and she has been a great resource for all of my CD needs and questions. You can read the blog here to learn more about the co op of wonderful cloth diaper retailers!

Boo for being sick!

So Joey was sick last week. He had a fever for 4 days which wasn't good. He would wake up in the morning so hot. I would immediately give him some tylenol or motrin to help his fever and continue giving it to him all day to control it. I was pushing fluids as well. Poor guy crawled up in my lap a few times and fell asleep. Isn't it weird that you have strict rules when it comes to your children, but when they are sick, they all go flying out the window? I gave into pretty much anything and everything that he wanted just because he was sick. I gave him watered down soda just to make sure he was getting fluid in him. I went outside when he wanted to becuase I hoped it would make him feel better. I would have went to the ends of the earth to make him feel better. Finally, on Friday his fever broke and he was feeling much better. I took him to the dr on Thursday because I was so worried and he didn't have an ear infection, but his throat was red. No strep, but it was most likely something viral. Boy am I glad that its over!

Dr Appt

So the twins went in for a dr appt on the 14th of this month and had a checkup. They are doing great! Johnathan is 13lb 13oz and Jonah is 14lb 9oz. They had the same head circumference and Johnathan was a little longer at 24.25 in and Jonah was 24 in. They are getting so big! They are both rolling over from their tummies to their backs. It doesn't happen all the time, but they do have the ability to do it. Johnathan loves being on his tummy and looking around at everything. I got out of the shower the other day and Jonah was crying. They were both laying down on my bed and I came in and Jonah was screaming his head off and Johnathan was looking at him like he was nuts. They have somewhat noticed each other lately. It is so cute! I can't wait until they are playing with each other.
They are starting to talk/make noise too. They sound sort of like they are fussing, but they aren't. I love hearing them do that because I know that in a few months, it will be actual talking.
The dr said they are very healthy and nothing to worry about. WOO HOO!!!

Decisions

So do you ever wonder if you made the right decision? In certain situations, you can make a decision that really doesn't matter at the time, but in the long run, it does make a difference. What if you bought the black top instead of the pink one? I know that that analogy might be silly to some, but when you really think about it, each decision you make changes your life.
Here recently I have been contemplating some of the decisions that I have made recently in my life. I guess in all reality, the decisions that I have made haven't ruined my life, but I wonder what I would have done if I had done things differently. Where would I be right now? What would I be doing? How would I feel about what I am doing? Was it the right decision? Was I being selfish when I made the decision? I don't know if its me or if its something else because I tend to be swayed when I am in the presence of (either reading online or actually in person) of someone who has made a different choice than I did.
Why can't someone just tell me what to do? Why do I feel the need to second guess myself? I am a good mom. I do the right things for my kids. If I am such a good mom, then why do I worry about what I have done? My kids are healthy, smart, and oh so cute. When I second guess myself, I tend to put myself down for the decisions that I have made. Did I do it because it was what was best for me or for them? Am I just being selfish or did I have a legitimate reason for doing what I did.
I know that this whole post might be confusing to some people and some people who haven't gone through it wouldn't understand, but to me its important. I just hope that I am not on that slippery slope that can sometimes be considered as PPD. I get mad at myself for not breastfeeding longer than I did with the twins. Did I give up too early? Should I have stuck with it longer to give them more benefits? I mean they are healthy big boys, not lacking in the weight department. They seem to be developing right on track and to be so happy. Am I just worrying about it because I know people around me that are breastfeeding or is it because I am being selfish and wanting to do it too. lkajseo frawl,kenrf.paw2k/ I get so frustrated when I second guess myself on the things that I do in my kids lives. I guess all I can do is pray. Pray that I can be at peace with my decisions and to move on with life and do things that I enjoy.

Welcome to Not Me Monday. You can head on over to her blog and check out her Not Me list.
I did NOT let Joey smash cake in his own face at a graduation party because it made cute pictures.
I did NOT act like I was asleep the other night so Marc had to get up with the boys for ONCE!
I did NOT let my sick almost 20 month old drink watered down root beer because I wasn't worried that he would get dehydrated. He didn't like it either. I also didn't let him play outside on the filthy porch because it wouldn't make him happy in his fever induced fussiness.
I did NOT have my mom come over and help me clean up my house becuase I can ALWAYS get it cleaned every day.
I did NOT get excited to have Jury duty so that I didn't have to come into work.
I did NOT enjoy holding my feverish son, just realizing that I haven't held him like that in a long time and that he is NOT turing into a wonderful boy!
(I did NOT just tear up writing that last one!)

Dear So and So

So I got the idea for this blog that I will try to do at least once a week (haha thats to say that I blog more than once a week lol) I got the ideal from here. So here it goes!

Dear Jury Duty:
I really didn't mind coming in on Monday, but why do you make us sit there and not do anything ALL DAY LONG? I know that you were nice enough to give us a break from 1145 until 115pm, but besides that, sitting in a basement room with about 100 other people from 9am until 4pm isn't a good use of your resources. At least I know that I can bring my laptop next time!
Signed, An Angry Juror

Dear Hubs:
Just a question, Did your mom teach you how to do anything besides sleep? Because you sure don't do much around the house. Those clothes and dishes don't pick up after themselves. I understand you work all day, but so do I! I just happen to work at home 4 of the 7 days a week. Other than that, I work 12 hr days which are WAY longer than your days. I shouldn't be expected to do all of the work around the house. And spending evenings at my parents house is great, but I can't get anything done around the house if we aren't at home!
Signed, A Frustrated Housewife

Dear Weather:
I know that we need the rain, but 13 out of 17 days so far this month is a big much to be seeing you. Your welcomed wetness is great for the garden, but not so wonderful when my toddler wants to be outside. Thank you for coming, just please don't come too much!
Signed, A Muddy Momma

Milestones!

The past few days have been ones that are full of milestones! The boys are smiling and laughing more than ever and Joey is as smart as a whip. On Friday, Johnathan and Jonah rolled from their bellies to their backs! I can't believe that they are doing these things already. They are grabbing the rings that hang from the handle on their carseats and chewing on them. They are laughing out loud and just all around happy boys. They do have their moments, but they are fairly good. People keep asking me how I do it. How do I feed two babies at the same time and also keep track of what my toddler is doing. They say that feeding two babies is hard enough without having to worry about Joey. You just do it. There are no how is it going to get done, no what if's, no questions. You just have to do it. If anything good comes out of this, the boys will learn patience. They don't get their needs satisfied at that exact moment, but they are taken care of once all of them are safe and in a good place. I have to make sure that Joey can't get hurt or anything when I am feeding the twins and I have to make sure that the twins are safe when I am dealing with Joey. It's not the easiest thing to do, but its doable. God has given me the ability to figure it out!
Joey is getting big too! He moved into his big boy bed a few days ago. We kept his crib up in his room just to make sure that everything is good with the new bed. He did great. The first night, we didn't have the bed rail clean so he ended up falling off the bed within 2 hrs of being put in it. We learned our lesson from that and the rail went up that night. He has slept and napped in it very well since then. I can't believe that my baby is not in a crib anymore! He has only gotten out of bed in the morning once since we had him in the big bed and his door was shut so we don't have to worry about him wandering around the house.

Happy Mothers Day!

Hi All! I just wanted to write a blog about what Mother's Day means to me. Well before I had kids, it was about getting my mom a present to show how much I appreciated her. But my questions is, Can you show someone how much you love them just by a material present? Once I became a mom myself, I quickly understood that you can't. It's not the material things that matter, its the emotional things that mean the most. Last year was my first Mother's Day. "Joey" got me flowers (I put his name in parentheses because of course, at 7 months he didn't go out and buy the flowers himself.) I appreciated them very much because not only were they supposed to be from my little boy, but I saw how much Marc valued me as a mom. He wanted me to feel like I was important to his son, but with the same gesture, he showed me that he wanted me to feel important because I was his wife and a good mom to his son. Fast forward a month. I found out I was prengnat again. (The pregnancy just so happened to be my suprise Mother's Day present. I got pregnant that night!) I was super excited but also scared. How could I love another child (and we would soon find out that there were 2) as much as I loved Joey. Fast forward again to January 12 of this year. I had two wonderful, perfect boys. My arms are so full now.

People keep telling me that I have my hands full. They say this in a negative way. I take it as a positive thing. My hand are full. Full of love, joy, promise for the future to come, full of smiles, laughs. There are so many people who are not able to have children. God has BLESSED me many, many times over with the children that I have. I honestly don't know what I would do without them. I had a friend tell me yesterday that she didn't know if she wanted kids. I told her that if she ever had one, she would never want to lose that experience. Children are such a blessing. As many times as I wanted to pull my hair out and scream right along with the kids, I wouldn't trade them for all of the money in the world.

I think that having a good role model is key to being a good mom. I have a wonderful mom. We had our differences and fights when I was growing up, but what teenager doesn't fight with their mother. At least I had a mother to fight with. As I got older, I realized that she did things for a reason (and no mom, you can't hold this over my head now!) Once I became a mom myself, I realized that I needed her help. Not only with how to raise my sons, but how to emotionally deal with it all. I am a bundle of nerves. I cry all the time (even though no one sees it) and I get easily irritated sometimes. I am sure this is normal for moms, but also normal for a mom having 3 kids 19 months and younger. I never thought that I would have 3 kids this close, but God gave me them for a reason. Maybe that reason was to see how much I do need my mom. As adults, we think that we are adults and don't need our parents help, but that is the farthest from the truth. I need my mom more now than I think I ever did. She is there not only to help me with my sons, but to make me a better mother and woman. She tells me that I am a good mom and a great person. I don't ever want to be without my mom.

Last year she found out that she had cancer. Let me tell you how much my world crumbled at that one phone call. I was shaken to my core. Life without my mom flashed before my eyes. I was so upset. Fortunately, I won't have to deal with that for hopefully a long time. She went through radiation and is cancer free! I don't thank her enough for what she does and on Mother's Day, I just want to say thank you mom for everything you do. I LOVE YOU!

To all of those other moms that are reading my blog, Happy Mother's Day to you too. I hope your day is everything you wished it to be and I hope you realize how lucky you are to have your families and your children.

Question of the week-Mother's Day

Question of the week: What do you like the most about being a MoM?

So for some people, when I post the word MoM, they think that its a mistake in my capitalization. That would not be unusual for me to have a grammar mistake in my blog, but this time its on purpose. It really means Moms of Multiples. I have been chosen by God to be placed in this wonderful group of amazing women. Not only are these women great mothers, but they understand each other in a way that not many people do.

Anyways, back to the question of the week. What do I like most about being a MoM. Well for me I guess I would have to say the smiles and the laughs that I get from the twins. From Joey, I love the hugs. The twins aren't doing much more than smiling, laughing and kicking right now, so I take what I can get. I love the times that I have with each one of them individually. The special moments that I have with Joey, Johnathan, and Jonah are so special to me. Even though I'm not around all of the time, I hope they know that I love them with all of my heart and I would do anything for them!

Mrs. Smith's Diaper Bag Review

A few months ago, I became a Facebook fan of Mrs Smith's Bags when I entered a giveaway for one of their bags. Unfortunately, I didn't win, but I do get updates now on their bags and all of the cool things that are happening in their business. When Mrs Smith's Bags was looking for a way to promote their bags and wondering how to get their name out there, I suggested doing a review on my blog. I always love reading reviews on new products and thought it would be fun doing one. With three kids under the age of 2, it's hard to find a bag that can hold everything for everyone. Before I saw this bag, I really didn't care much about the bag that I carried. It just had to hold some of the things that I needed. Little did I know that this bag would be the last one I would need to look for!

I was super excited when I recieved my bag. My husband called me while I was at work and told me that it had come in and that it looked cool. I couldn't wait to get home to try it out. I got home and tore it out of the box. It was so pretty. I got the copper color. I immediately took everything out of my old diaper bag and started putting it in the new one. I soon realized how big it was and how much it would hold. On a normal day out, we have 3 diapers for each child. That is 9 diapers. Add that to a package of wipes (because with 3 hineys to change, you never know how many you will need), a change of clothes for each of the twins, burp cloths (2), bibs (2), bottles (minimum of 2), formula (most of the time we take enough for 6 bottles), a sippy cup for Joey, snacks for him, and the various odds and ends that will possibly be needed throughout the day, it adds up very, very quickly. That doesn't even include all of the things that I need in the diaper bag (ie my ID, cell phone, keys, and any important papers that I might need during the day) This bag has room for it all.

This bag has a patented organizing drawer in the front. Who would have though to put an organizing drawer in a diaper bag? The inventor/designer of Mrs. Smith's Bags found a need for it when she was travelling with her 2 year old son and 6 month old daughter. Not only was she juggling the two children, but she was also trying to juggle the diaper bag. She couldn't find what she was looking for and ended up spilling her daughter's bottle all over the contents of the bag while looking for her son's toy train. She was beyond frustrated and vowed to make something that would solve her problems. In the bottom drawer of my bag, I stored two of the formula containers, tylenol, gas drops, snacks for Joey, socks for the twins, and any of the misc. things that I threw in at the last minute.

With the design of the strap on the bag, I can use it as a messenger bag or a backpack. This came in handy when I was carrying the twins at the same time in their infant carriers. The inside of the bag is so wonderful. It has 3 insulated cup/bottle holders, a zippered pouch, and a velcroed compartment. It held EVERYTHING that I needed to be out with for about 6 or so hours. The day that I tried it out for the first time, I put 9 cloth diapers in the top along with the wipes. There is even a pocket on the outside that I used to store 3 disposable diapers just in case we needed those as well while we were out. That pocked could also be used to store magazines, a book, or needed paperwork.

I honestly didn't think that I could ever find ONE diaper bag that could fit everything that I would need for all THREE of my kids in it at once. I have found it in this bag! You can find these awesome bags here. You can also visit Mrs Smith's Bags on Facebook at www.facebook.com/pages/Mrs-Smiths-Bags/123246658483. You can see the new things that they have going on and also they have discounts and promotions on a frequent basis!!

Thank you to Mrs. Smith's Bags for providing me with a sample bag for me to review that I am able to keep. I have not recieved any compensation for my review on my blog and all of the opinions are mine. All of the reviews that I put on this blog are my honest opinion. Thank you!!
