25 Weeks!

So I am 25 weeks today. Yes I actually made a post on the day that I turn each week! I am proud of myself for that!

How far along: 25 weeks

Total weight gain: -7

Maternity clothes: Same as before. All maternity pants and pretty much all maternity shirts now. I have a non maternity shirt on today and I really shouldn't be wearing it. Its my only Halloween shirt and I wanted to wear it. Luckily my pants have the full panel and I can get by with it one last time!Stretch marks:I am sure that they are about to show up in full force! How can't they. My belly is feeling huge now!

How big is belly? 48 inches. WOW that's all I can say right now!
Sleep:Not good at all. I was up 5-6 times last night to pee! I can't take this anymore!

Best moment this week: Feeling the babies move alot more.

Movement: They are moving like crazy. Other people are starting to be able to feel them move from the outside too!

Food cravings: Sweet Tea!

Belly button in or out: Innie and will be for a LONG time if not always but its getting more and more shallow as the days go on!

What I miss: Being comfortable!

What I'm looking forward to: Just feeling the babies move more and more!

How big are the babies? 25 weeks: Babies are about 1.5 pounds and just under 13.7 inches long. (http://www.womenshealthcaretopics.com/pregnancy_week_25.htm)

Dr Visit

So on Friday, I had an ultrasound and Dr Visit. Marc's mom came with us so that she could see the babies! They looked great! They are 1lb10 oz and 1lb11oz! They have almost doubled their weights in the last 4 weeks. The doctor said that they are only 3% different in size so that is a great thing. She said that I am looking great and for my next appt (in 2 weeks) they will do my glucose testing and my Rogham shot along with a cervical check. I am 24 weeks and I am measuring at 30 weeks! I only gained 1 1/2 lbs the last 2 weeks and the dr said that I should be gaining more weight than that. I guess I will start drinking protein shakes or something because I want to make sure the babies are healthy and growing! The doctor says that she doesn't expect me to go past 38 weeks so that means that if that is the latest I will go, I have less than 14 weeks left until I meet my twins!

24 weeks!! A milestone and a trip to L&D

How far along: 24 weeks

Total weight gain: -7

Maternity clothes: Same as before. All maternity pants and pretty much all maternity shirts now. There are a few that I can still wear, but not many.

Stretch marks:I am sure that they are coming soon. How could they not be? I don't know if I am getting new ones or if I am just seeing some of them from Joey for the first time! They look like the older ones so we will just go with that lol!

How big is belly? 47 inches. I dont know if that is exactly right, but that is what I got when I measured today. My lower belly is getting bigger too. I measure at my belly button, so that might be the difference.

Sleep:Eh Not that great. I have been tossing and turning. I don't know if it bothers me or Marc more.

Best moment this week: Feeling the babies move alot more.

Movement: They are moving like crazy. Other people are starting to be able to feel them move from the outside too!

Food cravings: M&M's For some reason they sound sooo good right now. I try to only buy a little bag so that I don't eat a ginormous bag by myself (well Joey tries to get some, but I just try to eat them after he goes to bed!)

Belly button in or out: Innie and will be for a LONG time if not always but its getting more and more shallow as the days go on!

What I miss: Being comfortable!

What I'm looking forward to: Just feeling the babies move more and more!

How big are the babies? 24 weeks: Babies are about 8 1/2 in from crown to rump and about 1 lb.

Well 24 weeks is a great milestone! If the babies do come, they will be treated by medical staff. Before 24 weeks doctors won't do any medical interventions to help the babies. Its sad that I celebrate making it to 24 weeks, but if something were to happen to me, the babies would be taken care of on the outside. Obviously I want the babies to cook as long as possible, but I can breathe a sigh of relief. Mom should start working on their quilts soon too! They are going to be the same pattern as Joey's, but using different fabric. Joey's is a camo print and a tanish/brown. The twins will be different patterns of camo and the same tanish/brown fabric. We have 111 days left until the babies due date. That really doesn't matter because my dr wont let me go past 38 weeks so if I go until then, I really only have 97 days left! That seems unreal! I go to the doctor on Friday so I will update about the babies then!

These ultrasound pictures were taken on Friday. On Thursday, I was at work and my blood pressure was elevated and I was cramping. I was seeing spots and not feeling well at all. My dr sent me to L&D to make sure everything checked out. When I got there, my BP was fine but I was still cramping. I was monitored for a little bit, but no contractions. The doctor came in and did an ultrasound and both of the boys were looking great. Dr Rempe came in and did an internal check and everything felt fine to her but she wanted me to come into the office and have a cervical check. I came in on Friday and they did an ultrasound and a cervical check. Again, both babies looked great and my cervix is locked up like Ft Knox. They told me that it was nice and long so thats a great start to keeping the babies in there for a while! I'll go back in a few weeks for another cervical check too!

23 weeks!

23 weeks! Only one more week until the babies are viable out side of the womb!!
How far along: 23 weeks
Total weight gain: -? lbs I haven't weighed myself this week so I don't have a weight to post.
Maternity clothes: Same as before. All maternity pants and pretty much all maternity shirts now. There are a few that I can still wear, but not many.
Stretch marks:No new ones that I know of. Its only just a matter of time before I am sure I will get more!
How big is belly? Don't know. I didn't have a measuring tape with me to do it and the only thing long enough is the dog leash and I think that is getting too short to measure my ginormous stomach!
Sleep:Not been sleeping well these past few days. I can't get comfortable to begin with and then I will fall asleep then wake up uncomfortable again.
Best moment this week: Feeling the babies move alot more.
Movement: They are moving like crazy. Other people are starting to be able to feel them move from the outside too!
Food cravings: Actually nothing this week. Apples and caramel!
Belly button in or out: Innie and will be for a LONG time if not always but its getting more and more shallow as the days go on!
What I miss: Nothing this week. I am enjoying the pregnancy!
What I'm looking forward to: Just feeling the babies move more and more!
How big are the babies? Week 23: Your baby is the size of a papaya! 10.5-11.8oz and 12.7-20.8 oz!

Interesting information

So when I started this blog, I also said that I would include some interesting information about twins and twin pregnancies. I just started reading Dr. Luke's book, When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets, and Quads, and in the first few pages, there are some interesting statistics!

1. The average twin pregnancy is 35-36 weeks

2. 57% of twins are born before 37 weeks and 12 % of twins are born before 32 weeks

3. The risk of delivering twins prior to 35 weeks is half of that if you have been pregnant before than of those of first time twin mommies.

4. A pregnant woman that is over 30yrs old carry twins for at least 35 weeks (this is not a good stat for me!)

22 Weeks

So I can't for the life of me get a post out the day that I change weeks. I'm lucky that I get one each week! Its been a busy last week. Joey has been starting to walk and he got his shots last Friday too. Between the shots and the 4 suspected teeth that are coming in, and the cold that the whole house has had, its been a long week. I had a dr appt yesterday (Friday) and it went well. I went in by myself (big change since Marc and Joey normally go with me) I didn't have to wait long in the waiting room and they took me back to the room. My BP is good (126/70) and I had gained 3 lbs since my last appt. I saw the nurse practioner and she said everything looks great! She measured my fundal height and normally a fundal height (with a singleton pregnancy) is equal to how many weeks you are pregnant. I am 22 weeks pregnant and I am measuring 30! Love it! I have another appt in 2 weeks and I have an u/s that day too. Less than 2 weeks until the babies could be considered viable outside of the womb. Dr's and hospitals normally won't do anything to try to save babies that are born before 24 weeks. I know that it sounds morbid, but I am looking forward to Oct 20th because I know that they could possibly survive and drs will try to help them if they decide to make their entrance then! Mom said she wasn't going to start their quilts until I hit 24 weeks. I told Marc that by the time mom gets done with the quilt tops, we have to have names finalized. Mom made Joey a quilt that has his name on it and the twins will have ones with their name on it as well. Since we are still undecided about the second name, we have to get on the ball before she gets done with the quilt tops.
How far along: 22 weeks
Total weight gain: -9 lbs Slowly but surely, the weight is coming on. I don't feel much weight gain, my belly just is getting bigger!
Maternity clothes: Same as before. All maternity pants and pretty much all maternity shirts now. There are a few that I can still wear, but not many.
Stretch marks: I found some stretch marks that I think were from Joey, but I can't be for sure.
How big is belly? 48 in. Holy moley! I grew 2 inches in the past week! I guess the babies are getting bigger!
Sleep:I have been sleeping better than I was in the past few weeks. Some nights are obviously better, but some still suck.
Best moment this week: Feeling the babies move alot more.
Movement: They are moving like crazy. Marc puts his hand on my belly in the middle of the night while I am sleeping and he can feel them. Both of their feet are on the left side so that is where I feel 99% of the movement or kicks.
Food cravings: Actually nothing this week. Just wait though, I'm sure something will pop up!
Belly button in or out: Innie and will be for a LONG time if not always but its getting more and more shallow as the days go on!
What I miss: Nothing this week. I am enjoying the pregnancy!
What I'm looking forward to: Having a few days off to just relax. How big are the babies? Week 22: Your baby has stretched to the size of a spaghetti squash and weighs almost a pound. (Length: nearly 11 inches.) (had to change my source of info because the bump now starts to group the weeks)
